CHRISTIAN ABORIGINAL PARENT DIRECTED SCHOOL
CHRIST CENTRED EDUCATION

welcome from our principal
Hello and welcome to CAPS Kurrawang. Thank you for your interest in our school. We are a Kindergarten to Year 6 co-educational primary school.
As a Christian institution our primary business is provide students with a Christ centred education. Improving the gap in Literacy and Numeracy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, and to have students working at their year level is paramount in our academic curriculum.
We ask that every student endeavours to be all that God wants them to be by; doing their best, being accountable for their behaviour, and behaving in a caring and considerate manner.
As educators, we are well aware that we have a significant responsibility to positively influence the growth and development of the future leaders in generations to come. Thus the staff are committed to working extremely hard and are dedicated team players, who always work in the best interests of our students.
Fostering a strong relationship with the students, parents and community is an essential element for student’s to succeed at school. We encourage all parents to be actively involved in their child’s education, through volunteering their time, knowledge and expertise.
Our school motto is “Extending God’s Grace”, this is a daily reminder of God’s grace freely given to all, but only received by those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Our desire is to manifest His grace in our own lives and reciprocate His grace to all, thus sharing and showing the love of Christ.
“And I, if I be lifted from the earth will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32 (KJV)
As Principal I am privileged and humbled to be given this amazing opportunity to serve the board, staff, students, families and the general community.
